20 Feb Philoptochos Moves $200,000 to Capital Campaign
The Annunciation Philoptochos turns over $200,000 to Capital Campaign and swears in its newly elected Board.
Stepping up to the plate, the Annunciation Philoptochos Ladies Society this past Sunday made real on their pledge to the building efforts of our community.
A check for $200,000 was presented on behalf of Philoptochos by its outgoing president, Elaine Wright, standing with other Philoptochos members whose combined time and effort play an often overlooked, but critical role in the day-to-day ministry of this Church.
The funds were amassed from a variety of sources and past bequeathments including over fifteen years of hard, love-filled work collected through Dial-a-Baklava proceeds.
The funds, which have been designated by Philoptochos, will go towards outfitting the future kitchen in the new hall/event center.
The check was received by Annunciation’s Proistamenos, Fr. James Retelas. Representing the Capital Campaign and Building Committee was George Koufasimis, and for the Parish Council its president, George Dariotis.
Following short and thoughtful words of appreciation by Fr. James, a newly elected Philoptochos Board of Directors was sworn in under the upcoming presidency of Christine Dariotis.
